TREATMENTS

A combination of factors can cause facial lines. Such as cellular changes, reduction of collagen, damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines.

DERMAL FILLER

As we age, our ability to produce collagen and elastin decreases. This means our skin begins to lose hydration, volume and elasticity. This combined with the effects of gravity, can lead to lines, wrinkles and sagging of the skin.

Using a soft gel which closely resembles the natural substances that exist in the body, dermal fillers are injected under the skin with a very fine cannula needle. This helps to hydrate and volumize the area being treated.  Wrinkles and folds are lifted up and smoothed out.

The results can often be seen immediately and can take up to 2 weeks to reach the final result. Generally, results will last from 4 months to 1 year. The results will wear off gradually, but repeated injections will have a cumulative effect.

ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Anti-wrinkle injections temporarily relax the muscles injected by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles, to prevent them from contracting and causing wrinkles. This softens the visible look of lines for a tighter and smoother appearance.

The injection starts to work within a few days and can take up 14 days to reach its full effect. Generally, results will last for 3 – 6 months. The results will wear off gradually, but repeated injections will have a cumulative effect.

TREATMENT AREAS

DERMAL FILLER

Lips

Dermal Filler is ideal for giving lips enhanced volume, hydration, definition and shape. Achieving a more full, balanced and natural appearance.

Lower Face – Chin / Jaw / Marionette / Jowls

Dermal Filler can enhance the overall appearance of the lower face by restoring or reshaping volume providing balance and symmetry.

Cheeks

Dermal Fillers can be used to shape, enhance and restore lost volume to cheeks; resulting in an instant lift and providing balance and symmetry to the entire face.

Dark Circles + Tear Troughs

Dermal Filler can be used to correct the hollows that create shadowing and dark circles under the eyes; resulting in a fresher, brighter appearance.

Temple

The temple area loses volume as we age and can create hollowing in the upper face making you appear unwell. Dermal fillers can be used to re-volumise this region.

Nasolabial Folds

These folds start at the sides of the nose and run down to the corners of the mouth. As your cheek descends, it can exaggerate these lines creating deeper folds and shadows. Dermal fillers support this area and re-harmonise the mid face.

Lip Lines

Vertical lip lines appear on the top and bottom lip. The appearance of these lines can be vastly improved with hydrating dermal filler, reducing the static lines

Forehead Worry Lines

Restore a youthful appearance by smoothing away the horizontal fine lines and wrinkles across your forehead.

When we raise our eyebrows, we get horizontal lines that can stretch across the length of the forehead. This is due to the ‘frontalis’ muscle. The severity depends on your age, gender and genetics.

Anti-wrinkle injections are very effective in reducing the intensity of the lines and in some cases, are enough to erase them.

Malinda prides herself on delivering natural results rather than a ‘frozen’ look.

Frown Lines

Anti-wrinkle treatments will help prevent the formation of wrinkles creating a frown.

We all frown when we express ourselves. These frown lines are caused by the facial muscles (procerus and corrugator) that pull the skin inwards and downwards, causing the skin between the brows to frown.

Over time, repeated action of these muscles causes these ‘dynamic’ lines to become ‘static’ lines. Anti-wrinkle injections are very effective in combating dynamic lines, and in most cases, they delay or prevent the formation of static lines.

Like your fingerprint, everyone has a different pattern of frowning – from the horizontal (bunny) lines to the vertical lines.

Crow’s Feet

Anti-wrinkle injections can help rejuvenate the small wrinkles and creases that form on the outer corner of the eyes and open up the eyes.

When facially expressing yourself, the skin around your eyes naturally crinkles, radiating from the outer corner of your eyes. Over time, these ‘dynamic’ lines can develop into deeper ‘static’ lines.

Eyebrow Lift

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used effectively for brow lifts. Eyebrows can be subtly elevated by injecting wrinkle relaxers into the muscle responsible for pulling down the eyebrow (corrugator muscles and lateral orbicularis occuli muscles). Relaxing this muscle allows the forehead muscles to elevate, which opens up the eyes and creates the effect of a ’brow lift’.

The wrinkle relaxers provide a more refreshed and ‘awake’ appearance. While not all candidates are suitable for the procedure, wrinkle relaxers are a much less invasive alternative that is worth pursuing before turning to surgical procedures.

Lip Flip

Anti-wrinkle injections can give the upper lip a subtle enhancement for a softer and fuller appearance. The lip flip is the latest cosmetic injecting trend at only a fraction of the cost of lip filler. This treatment uses a few units of anti-wrinkle injections to lift the sides of the upper lip, flipping your lip outward, resulting in a slight lift and curl of your lip for a soft natural looking appearance.

Gummy Smile

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to reduce a high gum muscle, allowing the upper lip to better cover the gum tissue.

Teeth Grinding (bruxism) and Jaw slimming

The muscles around the jaw can become enlarged from constant grinding, chewing or clenching. Anti-wrinkle treatment can reduce the size and strength of the muscle resulting in a relaxed jaw and slimmer appearance to the lower face.

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

In individuals who experience excessive perspiration under the arms, anti-wrinkle injections can relax the sweat glands to reduce the amount of perspiration.

After the first treatment, the effects of anti-sweating injections last an average of eight months and up to a year and a half. For nearly 40% of patients, anti-sweating injections reduced sweating for more than one year.

Neck Smoothing (Platysmal Bands)

As we age the skin around the lower face and neck can appear thin and crepey. Anti-wrinkle injections can relax the muscles and give a subtle smoothing and lifting to the area.

Neck bands are areas of increased muscle tension within the muscles of the neck and these can also appear when smiling. These can be easily minimised through the injection of anti-wrinkle injections into the neck bands to reduce muscle tension pulling downwards.

Smile lifting

Wrinkle relaxers can be used to relax the action of the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscle that pulls down the corner of the mouth. When relaxed with anti-wrinkle injections, the sad curvature of the corner of the mouth becomes more horizontal, causing the patient to have a more naturally pleasant, youthful and happy facial expression.

Smoker’s lines

Upper lip vertical lines are caused by multiple factors that can be different for each patient. Some of these factors include smoking, genetics, chronic sun damage, teeth and age. Often these stubborn lines can improve with the use of wrinkle relaxers. Smoker’s lines generally need a very small dose to see the desired effect. Anti-wrinkle injection treatment in the upper lip may also reduce excess sweating in the area.

Chin Dimples

Anti-wrinkle injections are a great way to relax lines and dimples in the chin caused by hyperactive muscles to result in a smoother, fuller chin area. This can also help acne scars that might be accentuated by the muscle action in the chin. Very low doses of wrinkle relaxers can be very effective, with the action lasting for about 3 to 4 months.
